Back To School !!!!

        It is nearing the end of August and the rug rats will be going back to school soon. I have to say, I am really excited about that. It will give me some more free time during the day to get some much needed jewelry making in. I have been keeping up with my knitting, but I have cut back on my beading over the summer. I am going to Lake Placid this weekend and I am going to hit the local bead store, Just Bead It, and grab up some awesome beads, and some great ideas.

      This is a much needed little vacation before school starts. My husband is staying home with the boys so I can have a little mommy time. I am going to make oodles of jewelry, enjoy the pool and sit in the hot tub and relax. I think my next beading project will be in fall colors. Fall will be here soon and I need some new fall jewelry to wear when it arrives.

This is my Crystal Explosion necklace. It sparkles so much, but you can't really tell by these pictures. It is made with Swarovski crystals, seed beads and crystal bugle beads. It was a little time consuming, but totally worth it. I plan on making one with pearls next. I think in a  nice light lavender color or a soft yellow.

This is one of the necklace's I just made. It is made with 14g copper wire and turquoise stones. I love how copper and turquoise look together. I had to had shape each of the oval rings and then hammer them to get the look I wanted. Then I connected them to my copper chain with jump rings. I just love how it turned out. I think my next project will be something with a bit of sparkle......or a lot of sparkle.

My new camera !!!

  My camera finally came today and I have been having fun taking pictures all day. I will be posting pics of all the new jewelry I have been making. I really love this new camera and will be outside most of tomorrow enjoying it.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!!!!!!!!

   Spring is here and it couldn't have come fast enough. The birds were singing outside my window this morning and I absolutely loved it. I have been thinking about some spring projects that I want to start. Some of them involving jewelry and some not. The spring cleaning fever has hit today and I want to get my whole house organized. Granted, I am not going to get it done in one day, but I am trying to make my life as simple and as stress free as possible. I am now going to try and live by the rule "a place for everything, and everything in it's place". 

     I look at my house and I see all the clutter......and it stresses me. NO MORE!!!! I am going to free myself of this clutter if it kills me...hopefully it won't, but who knows. Starting today I am getting rid of stuff that is just cluttering up my life and my happiness.

Flower Power

  Autumn is my favorite time of year. The air gets a little more crisp, the leaves start to change and make a beautiful rainbow of colors, and I am inspired by it all. I just love how this flower necklace came out. I used different sized seed beads and crystals to create the flowers. I was inspired by the colors of Autumn.

  I took a long walk through Forest Park today and was inspired by so many different things I saw. The brown's from all the different tree trunks. The way the sun sparkled off the water. I saw so many wonderful delightful things that I just had to come home and draw up some quick sketches for new jewelry ideas. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Fall is in the air

It is time for the kids to go back to school and for mommy's everywhere to get a little break. For a little "me" time, I made this fall inspired piece. I still have to attach the ribbon to make it a necklace, but here is the focal piece. I just love the colors of fall.
